Spot the difference…
One of my favourite things is receiving emails from people either keen to share ‘their’ work that I have ‘inspired’ or who have spotted work they believe has been ‘inspired’ by me. Sometimes this happens when a Photoshop tutorial website decides to run a piece on recreating something I’ve done, sometimes, people just can’t be bothered to think for themselves. Personally, I’m indifferent, but here are are some from the archives, you be the judge.
The ‘Ink & Water’ pieces done by others lack (imo) detail. You can see/feel it’s type + a watercolor brush in Photoshop. As I understand, you did the piece analogue which results in much more realism. Just my 2cents.
Immitation (even terribly executed) is the greatest flattery.
